THRUST - FIST HELD HIGH 1984 (US)

Here's some more great metal for you this time its Chicago's Thrust. I first heard these guys on a weird comp that I pick up for a dollar or two somewhere called " Solidarnosc Rock for Poland". I have no idea what that title means, does anyone?. There are only two bands on the comp and none the less Thrust was easily the best. I have included that comp track here also. This great high energy fun/party metal type shit. Any real metal head will dig this for sure. Great music all around. Though sometimes this guys attempt at King Diamond are a little terrible, otherwise a great piece of wax.

  1. You really, really CAN'T go wrong with a song called "Posers Will Die". I remember buying this for the cover back in the day. Coolness!

  2. Solidarnosc = Solidarity.

"Solidarity was the first non-communist party controlled trade union in a Warsaw Pact country. In the 1980s it constituted a broad anti-bureaucratic social movement. The government attempted to destroy the union during the period of martial law in the early 1980s and several years of political repression, but in the end it was forced to start negotiating with the union. The Round Table Talks between the government and the Solidarity-led opposition led to semi-free elections in 1989. By the end of August a Solidarity-led coalition government was formed and in December 1990 Wałęsa was elected President of Poland. Since then it has become a more traditional trade union."
