MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE - CAVERNS OF FEAR

After touring the Mega Caverns under the Zoo here in Louisville, I got to thinking about this read along book. I posted one of these a while back and to my surprise a lot of people got it. This one is a year or so later, but still awesome stuff. I wish I had more but these were the only two that survived my childhood, by the power of Grayskull you have the POWER... to download this! http://www.mediafire.com/?tnt54m1milb

KEN CURTIS - GUNSMOKE'S FESTUS

Fucking hilarious weirdness, that just about anyone should enjoy. I been meaning to post this one forever. If your a fan of the show then you will really really want to get this. I certainly found it very entertaining, also I thought WHY? Why would they even put out a Festus album, did Festus have a huge fan base? I mean I loved him on the show, but a whole album? Anyway damn funny stuff for the latent hillbilly in us all.

KIDD GLOVES - FEEL THE FIRE EP 1987 (US)

Killer sleazy female fronted classic metal! Anyone who reads this blog knows I love female vocals and mega hot Karyn Jaymes does a great job on this. I love everything on this even the total metal version of Blondie's "Call Me", which just seems a little out of place, but still rocks. Great rw metal sound and great songs too. Also got to say I fucking love the Jim Henson looking cover, I wish metal bands still did ridiculous shit like this.

2. Turn it around
3. Feel The Fire
4. Call me (Blondie Cover)

LORD RYUR - PACT WITH A SINNER 7" 1986 (CAN)

Bizarro cult metal masterpiece, some where between NWOBHM and early King Diamond, very evil in a garage metal kind of way. I love these vocals! Truly essential stuff!

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE-CASTLE GRAYSKULL 1983

Here is another one I ripped recently. I have been going through my singles and found some great kids records I had forgot about. So I've decided to start posting them. Here is the first. Just like most kids my age, I loved these little records, mostly because I loved the toys and the cartoon, but also because I loved stories, it was always awesome when someone told me a bedtime story or a cool scary story that kept me up all night, I wish I could still have that reaction. Anyway He-Man was one of my major childhood obsessions and still is high on my list even today, I was so happy when they finally made it to DVD. Anyway this is great little record that makes me long for the good ol'days, when I still had all my He-Man toys, sitting around a record player with my cousins, jamming He-Man and She-Ra stories and debating who we liked least Orko or Snarf...Enjoy!

ELMER FUDPUCKER -AT THE NUDIST COLONY(LETTIN IT ALL HANG OUT)

Here is a really weird one I just picked up this weekend at the flea market with my dad. Dad insisted that I get this, not that I put up a fight, ha ha! None the less never a man to let a novelty record slip past him, he plopped down the whopping 3 bucks that it cost us to own this precious recording. When I got it home I ripped him a copy and gave it a listen. This is some pretty weird drunken redneck madness. Sometimes funny sometimes insulting to your intelligence. Not to be missed though. I really did enjoy listening to this, however I doubt I would ever play it again, unless I knew someone else that would enjoy it. My personal favorite would probably be the offensive "Big Bad Bruce". Thanks for this one dad, your the best!

SACRED FEW - BEYOND THE IRON WALLS 1985 (US)

Here's some totally classic heavy metal with female vocals. I love this chicks voice, totally ballsy and tough. The band and the music are wicked too. Sure to please any fan of classic metal. In a way this reminds me of Witchkiller with female vocals, which is awesome. The lyrics are more like, "Fuck you I'll do what I wanna do" or "Dude heavy metal is a way of life", haha, those are not actual lyrics just the vibe of the album. This is their only full length album, but they do have a single. This is a gem just waiting to be unearthed. Classic Stuff!
1. Wildlife
2. Last Chance
3. Are You There?

FREDDY'S GREATEST HITS

Classic shit here, certainly needs no explanation. The first time I ever heard this was from my good friend Chris Hutton, who actually owns this on cassette. To say this is bad would be a vast understatement. Make me wish I still had my Freddy doll .Enjoy!

RICHARD BAND - FROM BEYOND OST

Heres another one that probably doesn't need an explanation, I'm sure most of you horror fans have seen this classic, based on an H.P.Lovecraft story and directed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator). Starring the one and only Jeffery Combs. Its a killer movie so if by some chance you haven't seen it do so. Now, this soundtrack by Richard Band (Laserblast,Mutant, The Alchemist, The House on Sorority Row, Ghostwarrior, Ghoulies, Troll and The Day Time Ended) is also totally killer. This guy really knows how to drench a soundtrack with Synth, haha. Check it out. Great shit!

MORTICIAN - NO WAR EP (AUT) 1987

First of all this isn't the death metal band! This is a completely different entity all together. Though this great cover looks like an Anarcho punk/ D-beat record, its really just classic headbanging metal music. Great riffs and great vocals here, I think they could have gone much farther if this wasn't their only release, too bad, cause this is a really good one. Falling somewhere between power metal and speed metal, but with a very Classic metal vibe, along with very well written material. I don't have a clue what happen to these guys, they did get back together at one point I think and there is a Compilation CD of their stuff out there somewhere. Truly a great single, I dug all three songs, totally METAL!
1. No War
2. Listen to the Priest
3. Hot Fight

DEEP THROAT ANTHOLOGY 1 & 2

I would think this would need no introduction, if you haven't seen it you at least know what it is by now, either way there is plenty to love about this soundtrack. Most of the songs are at least somewhat humorous, some of them are pretty funky and weird. Even if you dislike the movie or movies like this, songs like "She's Got to Have it" and "Deeper and Deeper" are totally worth your time regardless! There both Lost Classics and always put a smile on my face and don't forget the completely ridiculous "Deep Throat to you all", retarded! Dig in audio perverts!

AFRICA: WITCHCRAFT AND RITUAL MUSIC 1975

Here's a totally crazy one. My good buddy Chris Hutton gave me this one recently on vinyl, thanks Chris! Recorded in Africa with real Tribes people, this is a undeniably realistic document. Some of it is a little boring, but some tracks are very energetic, kind of heavy and almost scary, in a cannibal movie type of way. All around this is a really cool album and very interesting listening for those of you who are adventurous. This is a series, so if anyone else has the rest, I would love to hear them.

THE PLAYHOUSE PRESENTATION OF FRANKENSTEIN

Here's a killer one I just ripped a few days ago, this one must be rare, because I couldn't find out anything worthwhile about it. I think I originally picked it up at a Flea market in Southern Indiana, but maybe not. Anyway this is a great version of the Frankenstein story and man what a great cover! The back of the album has a awesome black & white drawing of the artwork, for kids to color I suppose, thankfully mine is still clean. Enjoy!

AMAZING DELORES - STOP MESSING WITH MY MIND 1994 (US)

This one is just way, way out there, I cant remember this chicks back story exactly. She was the subject of one of Jacob Young's films featured in the Different Drummer series, all of which are worth checking out. She hails from Mudlick, West Virginia, around the same parts as Jesco and Hasil. Anyway I had the pleasure of actually seeing her live sometime back in the mid 90's, truly a sight to see. She did most of these songs and then totally flipped out while doing "Great Balls of Fire", almost to the point something like G.G.Allin. Very crazy indeed for a 50+ woman with a beehive. For the most part the music on this album is a little boring but the singing and lyrics really keep you guessing, just take a look at the song titles, wild shit. For the adventurous listener only.
1.Rats in My Trailor
2.Stop Testifyin' to the Devil
3.Goin' over 40

CAMARGUE - HOWL OF THE PACK 1983 (UK)

This one is pretty obscure I think, I couldn't find out much about it. The a-side really kicks ass in a mid tempo kind of way, basically just classic NWOBHM that would please most fans of this kind of shit, personally I love it. However the b-side really stinks and sadly I think this is their only single. I doubt I will ever own this one, but who knows.
1.Howl of the Pack

AXEHAMMER - LORDS OF THE REALM 1987 (US)

Here's some seriously great fantasy based Classic/Power metal. Totally awesome vocals and some fantastic riffs. The first 5 tracks were recorded in 87 and but weren't released at the time for some reason, I don't know why, but its a terrible shame because these guys are a hell of a lot better than a ton of other bands. The last 3 are from demos. Totally Top notch shit! Tons of energy with unique and original songs. Again I really dig the super power metal vocals, this is just a really great metal record all around, too bad they didn't do more!
1. Princess
2. Lord of the Realm
3. Sands of Time
4. Break Down the Walls
5. Axehammer
6. Wings of Fire (demo 1984)
7. Sword and Shield (demo 1984)
8. Axehammer '84

CENTURION - TWO WHEELS 1982 (UK)

Fucking fantastic shit on this one. The punky title track is one of my favorite NWOBHM tracks ever, totally awesome, motorcycles and rock 'n' roll, what else do you need. I would love to own this fucker. The b-side isn't nearly as good but it has a certain juvenile charm that I appreciate. This should appeal to anyone who loves true metal. Enjoy!
1.Two Wheels

ATOMIC BOMBS AWAY VOLUME 5

Its been a little while since I did one of these, but I just made several more volumes that I will have up soon. More great heavy rock music from the 70's here. HELS - BIRTH 1985 (SWE)

Here's a very doomy and depressing piece of classic metal. This has different style and vibe than most metal from this period, but it also doesn't fit into the typical doom mold either, I really loved the demonic background vocal and the over all sound is very metal, also love the simple cover, great stuff check it out.
1.Birth

GRAVE - SCREAMING FROM THE GRAVE 1983 (SWE)

Great NWOBHM-esq single from this Swedish entity. Great shit with a lot of energy and funny keyboards, very reminiscent of Rainbow at times even, not like that's a bad thing right? Anyway great single, both tracks are rocking and entertaining enough for repeat listens. got to mention this great little cover
1.Screaming from the Grave
2.Dreamer

HELLSTOMPER - THE LAST HOEDOWN 1995 (US)

A killer piece of redneck punk here, maybe even the be all / end all of the style to be honest. You would be very hard pressed to find another band that does this shit with more backwoods anger and fury. Many have compared this to ANTiSEEN over the years and even Nine Pound Hammer, rightly so I guess, that is what this comes closest to in a lot of ways. But where as ANTiSEEN went the whole destructo rock, blood, guts and glory to the max route, so you knew they weren't purely countrified, but maybe more of a punk/redneck weirdo hybrid. While Nine Pound Hammer have always come across like they were kind of making fun of rednecks and Hillbillies really. But these dude's have a completely redneck image, hillbilly outlook and are 100% believable. There's no real tongue in cheek sentiment here per say, even though in some ways their really not being entirely serious. But the over the top shock value of songs like "If you Ain't from Georgia" and "Hellstomper", make them quite hilarious. On par with David Allan Coe's finer X-rated material and just as offensive. In many ways this truly aspires to be those classic D.A.C. albums, going as far as to bravely cover the classic "Rails", fortunately Hellstomper are more than capable of living up to their name and the giant shoes they try to fill, this single is pure proof. I cant say enough about how amazing and rocking this record is, truly a classic piece of wax. They have a shit ton of other releases and all of them are good, so if you like this one, get the rest! This is NOT, I repeat NOT for the easily offended or for those who are prone to getting their panties in a bunch!

HAP & MARTHA PALMER - WITCHE"S BREW

Here's a very interesting album for you folks today. Though at first this looks like your average Halloween record, its really a speech therapy album? WTF right? Who knew witches had teaching abilities. Don't let any of that stop you from checking it out though, because I must admit the title track is brutally addictive. When I first heard it I just thought it was goofy, but then I got the urge to play it over and over again to the point that I picked up my guitar and learned it just to sing and play it around the house! Certainly not for everyone but I'm sure there are plenty of you who will enjoy this little oddity.
http://www.mediafire.com/?gxngcloyu5k

HARDWARE - COMMON TIME HEROES 1984 (GER)

Here's a pretty good one from Germany, not a perfect album by any means, but there are some really good parts. Over all I really like the guitar sound and the general sound of this record. If there is anything I would change, it would be the sometimes weak vocals. Not all the time but sometimes this guys just sounds wimpy as hell. They aren't playing thrash metal or anything but still the vocals could use a lot more balls. That aside I dig this record pretty well, it will certainly appeal to fans of 80's glam and hard rock. My favorite here would have to be "On the Run". Check it out.
1.Hot'n'Ready
2.In the Night
3.Tough Lover

BRAM STOKER - SCHIZO-POLTERGEIST 1972

This is one that I had read about a lot and I really wanted to hear it. Finally I got a hold of it maybe a year ago. It wasn't as amazing as I had hoped but still, its a great piece of heavy, doomy and strange music. I would have probably bought this on the name alone, ha ha. Roll one and enjoy!

THE DEVIL RIDES OUT - THE FILM MUSIC OF JAMES BERNARD

Great soundtrack to a downright essential movie. I cant stress how into this movie I have been over the years, a near obsession at times. This is another one Noel sent me recently and I know he has always loved this movie too. Thanks man! Anyway to me its just totally classic in like every way. This soundtrack is fucking great too and it really adds to the movie. If you haven't seen it, certainly make sure that you do. You wont be disappointed. ICECROSS 1973 (ICELAND)

Wanted this one since the first time I seen the cover, which is totally awesome. This doesn't quite live up to the weird cover image, but its pretty damn cool, strange and depressing. These guys seem totally backwards at times and then really progressive too. Very creative stuff, but not hippie rock or jam rock really. These dudes seem rather angry to be frank, this is very anti religious, which is pretty bold for 73. I love the fuzzy, sloppy guitar sound and all the songs are early metal sounding. This is definitely heavy and different. Check it out.

OSCAR BRAND AND HIS YOUNG FRIENDS - TRICK OR TREAT 1979

Alright here's some great Halloween shit for you today, had this album for quite a while before I got around to listening to it, man what was I waiting for, this is fantastic. Very folksy sing along songs that explore Halloween and various other weird themes performed in a storyteller style, with the kids even get in on the fun sometimes, which I love. Kind reminiscent of the Kay Lande and Wade Denning Album I put up a while back, but not quite that brilliant. If I had this one when I was kid, I'm sure I would have worn it out, just killer stuff. Of course I really like this cover also, all the cool library stickers make it even cooler. Would love to own this one someday. I know at least a few of you are really going to like this, you know who you are. Also I cant go without mentioning that this guy has written like hundreds of weird songs, spanning almost any and every topic, fucking crazy, you know this dude has got to be strange. Check out his Wiki link..Enjoy!

DAEMON - ENTRANCE TO HELL (UNRELEASED DEMO LP) 1970-1971 (UK)

WOW, here's another just blazing heavy rock record. Post-Atomic Rooster, Pre-Hard Stuff. Great heavy guitars play upbeat downer rock classics. How can an album this energetic be doomy, I don't know but that's just what this is. Again the guitars sound so great, the solo's and playing are top notch and the songs are all very well written. It would be hard to put these guys into just one category for sure. There's a lot of different shit going on here, but it's all hard and heavy. Fantastic stuff!!
