Here's a little heavy rock for you guys, this is a great band. This record is pretty heavy and just kind of grungy and sleazy. This vocals are bikerish and rough at times, sort of like STEPPINWOLF and the music is heavy blues with a Sabbathy touch. Interestingly enough they used the same artist on their first album that SABBATH did. A great cover I might add. Also sharing SABBATH's flirtation with black magic and evil, they were said to put on quite a live show at the time. This is their second album and never officially released. Its amazing when gems like this just get sweep under the rug. There's a lot of shit going on on this album, so repeat listens are a must. I included the first album here too, it's a little more jam/hippie rock type stuff, but still there are some very heavy moments and a lot of great songs.
Here's a fantastic piece of Halloween wax. Great fun for everyone. I loved this the first time I heard it and I imagine that if I had owned a copy when I was a kid, I would have had a total blast with it every Halloween. Get ready for your own homegrown Seance. This audio gem features great creepy music and tons of atmosphere, as Doctor Druid guides you through a neato seance full of sound effects and cool gags, making perfect use stereo technology. Comes complete with instructionson how to make the absolute most of your Seance. Amazing record and a lot of fun.
Great single here from these Canadian punks. The first track "Money , Guns and Power" is a total classic and the rest of this single is killer too. Apparently they opened for THE POLICE (who I hate with a passion)at some point, I guess that didn't help much because you don't see anyone sporting PRIVATE SCHOOL shirts do ya? I cant say I know anything else about them really, but this single rips that's for sure. Give it a good listen.
Alright here's a compilation I originally made for my close friend Stoney tombs aka Noel, a huge classic monster fan and one of the few people I actually know that likes this shit as much as I do. You might have seen some of his comments urging me to post these. Anyway I made this CD for him and over the last few years we have both become increasingly more obsessed with this type of music. I would say I went most of my life without realizing how much great Monster music existed. I dug John Zacherle and Bobby "Boris" Pickett and some other stuff, but had no idea how many one off singles, sound effect records and no name artists there were, amazing really, this is a truly unsung form of music, that's been relegated to cassette budget bins and dusty record boxes at flea markets and is only considered relevant around Halloween. BULLSHIT! This is some really great music, its unusual and very creative at times. I got a comp that Buffalo Bop Records put out about four years ago and that started to clue me in. So I'm returning the favor, here's the first in a 6 volume (so far) series of compilations. There tons of classic stuff on here and lots of obscure stuff too. If you can find a better 6 volume Halloween comp, send it my way pronto! I'll have them all up by the end of the month. Hope you enjoy it.
Cool little record here, I got this from Scar Stuff I think, but I'm not sure at this point. Great stuff here,basically this is a spoken word record with some sound effects. Al Zanino lays down his best Bela Lugosi impersonation, some of this could pass as outtakes from some old Ed Wood script. The first track has a great part with Igor, for Christs sake Drac, give him some blood already, ha ha. Al also runs down all the familiar elements of the vampire mythos, just in case you forgot about those damn mirrors. The second track is maybe a little pointless, but no less entertaining. "When you go to bed tonight don't forget to dream about me.....Count Dracula! That says it all really.
I had a little extra time today so I thought I would throw out another little horror related ditty. If you are a fan of the TV show N.C.I.S. you will really get a kick out of hearing David McCullam read this H.P. Lovecraft classic. I've got a couple more Lovecraft audio books I might put up if people are interested. I'm sure just about anyone with half a brain will enjoy this. So give it a listen.
Totally awesome Halloween record here, up there with the Kay Lande and Wade Denning album I posted awhile back and like that album, this one makes full use of public domain type tunes, with altered Halloween lyrics. This makes for a catchy little bit of fun, my favorite being "I been working on my costume", sung to the tune of, you guessed it "I been working on the railrod". Very memorable and drenched in that classic Fall Festival feeling. I wish there were more albums out there like this, I mean I love sound effects records, but I like songs a lot more. A great one for sure, check it out!
Here's some great Brazilian madness for you. I rarely step out of the eighties when it comes to metal, its not that I wont listen to newer stuff (I spent the last 2 weeks burning out the new IMMORTAL), It just seems like the metal records that really move me are from that time period, same with punk. Partly I think its due to the energy and innocence of the music. After Death metal came along, something seemed to be missing from metal, I think it might have been the word Heavy? Ha ha, anyway here's a good one from the 90's, my good friend and amazing artist Josh McAlear turned me onto this a few months ago, we trade a lot of music and he sprang this little gem on me and I almost shit my brain. Accurately describing this record isn't easy, lead by striking female vocalist Lullaby, it's kind of goth, kind of death, kind of black, kind of doom and kind of just weird as hell and that doesn't even begin give you an good idea how strange this is. This chicks vocals are just completely crazy and absolutely awesome, totally not for everyone though. I could see plenty of people not digging this at all, but I fucking love it. Reminds me of THORRS HAMMER or a darker, more death BETHLEHEM. Unbelievably different and darkly satanic, oh yeah and a lot of fun. Also check out this chicks really weird videos on YouTube, bonkers stuff!
1.Shout Of The Death
Amazing record by this virtually unknown French entity. I don't know to much about these guys, but this record is top notch stuff. To me this is as good as France's classic TRUST and just about as good as most of the English stuff that was coming out at the time. Very well played and very well written material. I really wonder what happened here, these dudes seem prime for the big time. Of course this album is in French but, shit that still doesn't effect the listening experience. Formed in 80, they put out three albums, I still need the first....Anybody? After their third album, guitarist Herve Raynal left the band and they changed their name to PINK ROSE for an album before calling it quits. These guys sometimes remind me of a French version of America's RIOT or Austrailia's HEAVEN and I fucking love both those bands! This is a killer record for classic metal fans..Enjoy! 
First we got the killer Night of the Living Dead soundtrack, lots of great stuff on this one. Some dialogue clips and all the neat music from the movie. An zombie fan should have this, so if you don't have please check it out.
Next we got the unreleased incidental music from Dawn of the Dead, this is a little strange and I was surprised that this even existed, its probably been kicking around on the bootleg circuit for years though. A lot of just weird shit here by various artists, hell the PRETTY THINGS even pop up. Plus some really awesome Radio spots, these totally make this album worth it, check it out!
Great fucking tape here from Sweden's MISSBRUKARNA, a killer batch of angry KBD/BLOODSTAINS type punk. Very intense, but very catchy. It's in Swedish so I really have no idea what the songs are about, but they certainly jam. These guys put this tape out by themselves and somehow, unbelievably this never made it to vinyl?? A really great piece of fast punk/hardcore music and only a few filler tracks, most are actually far above average! These dudes also have a great split single with PANIK before this, totally worth a listen, not as angry but really good. Check this one if you dig classic punk and hardcore, you will thank me later. 
As seen on TV, almost 30 years ago. Here's another fantastic sound effects record for all you horror fiends and ghouls. Wow what an awesome cover huh? Pretty basic sound effect type shit here. Not as great as "Sounds of Terror" or anything but still a great piece of Halloween wax and worth a listen for sure. This album was packaged with the classic "Goofy Gold" novelty record. Why? Who the fuck knows. Yet another great album I pilfered from the amazing and now defunct Scar Stuff blog, Jason you were the fucking best out there dude. I hate to see you go. Certainly a strange one here. I have seen it listed as NWOBHM and they surely look the part, what with that totally lame name and terrible cover, one of them almost looks like he has down syndrome or some other crazy shit. But this has a lot more in common with English punk. There is little to no metal on this single, maybe some rock, but mostly punk sounds. Every song on this is different, one of them is even a little funky and one sounds like old Bruce Springsteen, for fucks sake! Who did these guys think they were appealing to anyway? Despite all that, I did like it. Some of the lyrics are pretty cool and each song is kind of catchy. Di they make a conscious decision to all sport mustache's? Ha Ha, not a bad single at all though and sort of original. Give it spin and see what you think.

Great little piece of wax here. Formed way back in 78, Norwich's ZORRO is hard to categorize. It's hard rock, but kind of punk and sometimes really reminds me of COCK SPARRER, mostly just the title track. All three tracks here are good, but the title track is just so damn catchy and addictive that I rarely listen to the other tracks. I often find myself singing this one in my head. All the tracks here are good though, I like "Soldier Boy" quite alot actually. Great shit here.
Here's two, that's right two great sound effects records today for our daily Monster Month post. Both of these charming little gems hold pretty standard horror sounds for the most part. However some of this is still pretty bizarro. I like both of them but I think the second one is just a little cooler, due mostly to the spoken word parts. I really like the "Wolfman attacks Man" track on the second one also, short but very sweet. These two have almost identical covers as far as what I was able to find out, but the back covers are different. There is another record out there also called Ghostly Sounds that I don't have, it was put out by Peter Pan Records, if anyone has it let me know. Both this records have some great moments...Enjoy!

Here's a weird one for sure, a true oddity in the annals of monster music history. I only found out about this one about a year or so ago, but it's truly an original album. This Dub Reggae record was produced and arranged by Henry "Junjo" Lawes, the rhythms were recorded at Channel One backed by the Roots Radics, and mixed by Scientist at King Tubby's studio. Some of you might be aware of this album due to the fact that several tracks from the album, "Dance of the Vampires", "The Mummy's Shroud", "The Corpse Rises", "Your Teeth In My Neck" and "Plague of Zombies" were featured in the soundtrack to the video game Grand Theft Auto III. Scientist received no royalties for this and sued unsuccessfully. The court ruled that a recording mixer was not considered the author of a musical work, so Rockstar were correct to treat the producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes as the copyright holder. Crazy right and totally wrong, I mean his damn name is on the fucking cover! These beats are vicious and mean and man what an awesome cover. I was really amazed by this record when I first heard it, but I don't really listen to reggae. Great for a Halloween drive by! 
Fantastic fucking single here, these guys are on fire. A total NWOBHM masterpiece in my opinion. Formed in 80, this is their only piece of wax. The first track "Midas Light" is upbeat and full of energy. Catchy as fuck, I love it. Then the B-Side is equally rocking if not even better. A bluesy fast paced rocker, also damn catchy and infectious.These guys and this recording are a little rough around the edges, but that only adds to the proceedings. Classic shit, check it out.
Here is the ultimate Halloween classic, I have been meaning to get this one out of the way for quite sometime now. If you haven't heard it, get it now and if you have you already know what awesome monster music that it holds. This record has been ripped off and re-recorded a million times but this is the original. The title track here is pretty over played at this point but there are plenty of other classic horror tracks here, my favorites are probably "Sinister Stomp" and "Monster Motion" . Get this now for Halloween!
First let me say this is my all time favorite horror movie, I'm sure of plenty of you don't agree but I don't care. This movie had a profound effect on me and very well may have changed my life forever. After this film I got really into punk and metal, developed a crush on Linnea Quigley that sometimes bordered on Psychotic if not extreme and watched every zombie movie I could get my hands on. My mom actually let me go to the theatre and see this at the tender age of maybe 9 or 10 and by myself no less. To this day I will watch any piece of crap Linnea or Jewel Shepard even have a cam
eo in. Also the character "Suicide" was very important to me and later in life I found myself relating to him in the weirdest ways, I was the only one of my friends with a car and also the most enveloped and obsessed with punk. None of them really liked me they just needed a ride. In the movie he is kind of over the top ridiculous, but somehow he really hit home to me. The scene where he says "you think this is just a costume, this is a way of life", nothing could say it better than that statement. Now that I'm in my 30's and all my old friends are cranking out kids like Disney cranks out animation, I find my self feeling the same fucking way, they just needed a ride. Of course now that I live in Louisville, Ky, I do get a big kick out of seeing them blow it all to hell at the end. All that aside, on a basic level this movie is damn amazing even by today's standards, the f/x are great, the music is killer and the dialogue is some of the best ever put to paper in my opinion. Over the years this little horror flick has amassed a more than huge cult following, I would say that it is starting to rival Rocky Horror, and justly I might say. I can repeat this dialogue from start to finish, most of it without even playing the movie. Anyway here's the killer soundtrack with all the great music from the movie and the best of the dialogue. There is a great bootleg version of the film out there that has most of the edited footage added, including the extended ending, classic! Hunt that shit down if you love this movie, it will make your fucking day. As of midnight tonight this is the beginning of MONSTER MONTH for me and I am planing on putting up a horror related item everyday this month, don't worry I will still post some metal and punk. But it is October after all.

Here's a little piece of weirdness I did a couple of years ago, I meant to get someone to put it out but never got around to it. So instead I made this little CD-r version. These are two totally different songs I made on the old 8-track. Pretty rough and weird stuff, I doubt anyone will be that surprised, but then again you never know. I have been working on finishing the whole album lately, so I'm throwing this up to see what people think. These are just ruff mixes and they sound like it, but I was happy enough with them to share. Kind of weird emotional stuff. Please be kind ...It's my first time....Ha Ha just kidding I cant wait for the hate mail. I always promised not to use the blog to push my own shit, but since you cant actually purchase this I think were OK...Enjoy the NIGHTDREAMER!
Good fucking punk/glam/new wave band from Ireland here. This is a pretty strange record and I'm not all together sure how to describe it, but I like it. Formed originally in 77 as RAPED, the CUDDLY TOYS started out just trying to piss people off and they did, I mean with a name like RAPED it couldn't have been that hard right? The Pretty Paedophiles EP, must have helped out a bit also. But eventually against all odds and after a name change they got somewhere and were up to be managed by the one and only Marc Bolan, but sadly he died before this could happen. Leaving the CUDDLY TOYS in nowheresville. This is a pretty strong piece of wax and not all the songs appeal to me, but I give it to these guys for sheer originality. When this record hits it hits pretty hard, but the bad places can be a real thorn at times, but hey that's why we can skip forward on the old CD player right? I really like This cover, it has got to be one of the weirder ones I have seen and does nothing to describe the music it contains, or maybe it does, Ha Ha. A fantastic Thrash album from California's BLOODLUST. Formed in 83, to me this sounds like a speed up meaner version of WITCHKILLER. There are moments that are kind of remind me of MOTORHEAD / RUNNING WILD also. This is closer to speed metal than total Thrash due to the true metal parts, but there is some fast stuff. My favorites here are "Soldier of Fortune". "Chainsaw" and "Rising Power". Fucking great metal music, awesome vocals and a ton of energy. Certainly give this one a l

Anti-life Demo
This one is pretty funny, the vocals here are over the top and that's what drew my attention in the first place. This record is a heavy but kind of Glam proposition. Almost all heavy metal stereotypes are present, screaming vocals, acoustic interludes, sub moronic lyrics and some uber flashy guitar solo's and I don't mean any of that in a bad way. I think this is a very catchy, if neanderthal record. Sometimes there is a AC/DC kind of vibe happening, maybe more in a KROKUS vein, but you get the point. Also maybe a hint of ACCEPT. This is the only album that I have by them, I have read there is another one called "Rock 'n' Roll Salvation", but so far I haven't heard it. I don't think they put out any singles either. This is fun metal record for sure, so give it a listen already!
Alrighty here is the sequel AKA Volume two of my fantastic heavy 70's Rock series ATOMIC BOMBS AWAY, as my good friend Mr.Rutherford guessed, the title is from a BLUES CREATION song, good job Mike. Now this one is just more of the same, featuring some real 70's obscurities. Of course I have thrown in a couple of classic tracks that should be familiar to alot of you, just for the hell of it. This one might be a little more jammed out, their a few pretty epic tracks here, but all of it is really top notch shit, give it a listen. Hope you like it as much as the first one.
Killer German metal with a cool rock 'n' roll attitude, though you may not have heard of them, they are actually pretty important, they along with ACCEPT and TRANCE, were early progenitors of the classic real metal sound in Germany. Of course I have to mention that this features Barbara Schenker on Keyboards, the sister of Michael and Rudolf Schenker of SCORPIONS. If you love metal, that alone should make you want to hear this. It's not as completely amazing as SCORPIONS or anything, but it's a damn good metal record. It does dip into the "Rock" category quite a bit, but then their are some pretty heavy moments too. The lyrics here are sometimes a little ridiculous, like on the first track "The Bitch" and the vocals are little rough here and there, still it's pretty damn entertaining shit. This is their second album and I would think these fellows would have went over great with the biker set. This is a great but totally retarded cover. I love it. Check it out Dude! 
First of all let me say sorry for not posting as much as usual this week, my wireless connection has just been complete shit. Anyway let's get the makeup session under way. I thought since the last thing I posted was SATAN, why not make today's post HELL. This is a virtually unknown NWOBHM band. Very original stuff here and the vocals are totally strange. The sound quality here isn't the best, considering that this is a rehearsal demo anyway, its pretty listenable. These dudes are criminally under appreciated. The HELL story isn't that different from alot of bands that barely made it out of the basement, so to speak. They did play shows, but this kind of music in 82, wasn't gonna get you anywhere. They did happen to get a piece of vinyl out though. A single called "Save us from those who would save us", a good piece of wax but their demos are much better. This is actually their second demo and they made a little progress here from the first one. The songs are all kind of epic and I guarantee that this isn't like any other Occult band out there. Sadly right as they were signing a deal with MAUSOLEUM, the label collapsed and then so did the band and eventually singer Dave Halliday killed himself via carbon monoxide poisoning. Crazy right. Every old school black metal fan out there should know who these guys are by now. They have since reformed with Martin Walkyier from SABBAT (another fantastic occult act ) on vocals. This picture of them totally reminds me of AGONY BAG and I think fans of that kind of stuff will also dig this
