RICHARD BAND - FROM BEYOND OST

Heres another one that probably doesn't need an explanation, I'm sure most of you horror fans have seen this classic, based on an H.P.Lovecraft story and directed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator). Starring the one and only Jeffery Combs. Its a killer movie so if by some chance you haven't seen it do so. Now, this soundtrack by Richard Band (Laserblast,Mutant, The Alchemist, The House on Sorority Row, Ghostwarrior, Ghoulies, Troll and The Day Time Ended) is also totally killer. This guy really knows how to drench a soundtrack with Synth, haha. Check it out. Great shit!

DEEP THROAT ANTHOLOGY 1 & 2

I would think this would need no introduction, if you haven't seen it you at least know what it is by now, either way there is plenty to love about this soundtrack. Most of the songs are at least somewhat humorous, some of them are pretty funky and weird. Even if you dislike the movie or movies like this, songs like "She's Got to Have it" and "Deeper and Deeper" are totally worth your time regardless! There both Lost Classics and always put a smile on my face and don't forget the completely ridiculous "Deep Throat to you all", retarded! Dig in audio perverts!

Great soundtrack to a downright essential movie. I cant stress how into this movie I have been over the years, a near obsession at times. Here's a pretty funny soundtrack to a movie I totally loved when I was a young teenager, you just cant beat Linnea Quigley's "Dance of the Virgin Chainsaw", Totally unreal! I have faith that most you out there have already seen it. I rented this at my local mom and pop somewhere in the late 80's I think and was floored by how utterly retarded it was and how much I loved it. This one is for the late Vic Mizzy. Sadly he died on Saturday at the age of 93. He wrote a truly enduring classic here with the Addams Family theme. I'll be hearing it to the day I die I'm sure. Here's a couple of cool records for our Halloween post, nothing life shattering but, I'm Glad I have both of them. I was going to post the GOBLIN Dawn of the Dead soundtrack with these, but since I have another giant GOBLIN post planned, I guess I'll wait. So here it goes! First we got the killer Night of the Living Dead soundtrack, lots of great stuff on this one. Some dialogue clips and all the neat music from the movie. Next we got the unreleased incidental music from Dawn of the Dead, this is a little strange and I was surprised that this even existed, its probably been kicking around on the bootleg circuit for years though. A lot of just weird shit here by various artists, hell the PRETTY THINGS even pop up. Plus some really awesome Radio spots, these totally make this album worth it, check it out!

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD - SPECIAL EDITION SOUNDTRACK

First let me say this is my all time favorite horror movie, I'm sure of plenty of you don't agree but I don't care. This movie had a profound effect on me and very well may have changed my life forever. After this film I got really into punk and metal, developed a crush on Linnea Quigley that sometimes bordered on Psychotic if not extreme and watched every zombie movie I could get my hands on. My mom actually let me go to the theatre and see this at the tender age of maybe 9 or 10 and by myself no less. To this day I will watch any piece of crap Linnea or Jewel Shepard even have a cameo in. Also the character "Suicide" was very important to me and later in life I found myself relating to him in the weirdest ways, I was the only one of my friends with a car and also the most enveloped and obsessed with punk. None of them really liked me they just needed a ride. In the movie he is kind of over the top ridiculous, but somehow he really hit home to me. The scene where he says "you think this is just a costume, this is a way of life", nothing could say it better than that statement. Now that I'm in my 30's and all my old friends are cranking out kids like Disney cranks out animation, I find my self feeling the same fucking way, they just needed a ride. Of course now that I live in Louisville, Ky, I do get a big kick out of seeing them blow it all to hell at the end. All that aside, on a basic level this movie is damn amazing even by today's standards, the f/x are great, the music is killer and the dialogue is some of the best ever put to paper in my opinion. Over the years this little horror flick has amassed a more than huge cult following, I would say that it is starting to rival Rocky Horror, and justly I might say. I can repeat this dialogue from start to finish, most of it without even playing the movie. Anyway here's the killer soundtrack with all the great music from the movie and the best of the dialogue. There is a great bootleg version of the film out there that has most of the edited footage added, including the extended ending, classic! Hunt that shit down if you love this movie, it will make your fucking day. As of midnight tonight this is the beginning of MONSTER MONTH for me and I am planing on putting up a horror related item everyday this month, don't worry I will still post some metal and punk. But it is October after all.

GOBLIN POST NO.2 !!!!!!!!

OK so I promised some more GOBLIN, now here it is. I tried to include a few very important soundtracks and some lesser known gems as well. Of course there is the amazing "Suspiria" and the equally as important and amazing "Deep Red" albums to represent the pinnacle of GOBLIN genius. Now anyone who is already into GOBLIN has already heard these soundtracks, but if you are not familiar with them ,this is a great place to start. Both of these are nothing short of brilliant. Sure I could have added few other major points in GOBLIN career, but then how would I make GOBLIN POST NO.3 happen? The lesser (only in popularity) soundtracks I included here are "Patrick" and "Contamination", great but not as good as the first two I listed, still powerful soundtracks. I have also put up a couple of studio albums that they did, the first "Roller" is totally awesome and up there with GOBLIN'S best material. It was supossed to be a soundtrack but that didnt happen. The next is "Perche Si Uccidono" , this one is actually GOBLIN performing as Iil Reale Impero Britannico with one of my other favorite Italian composer's Mr. Fabio Frizzi. This should have been amazing, but really I found it kind of a let down. I mean this should have been a dream come true for Italian horror music fans, so I will let you decide what you think. STEFANO MAINETTI - ZOMBIE 3 OST 1988

Hadn't done a soundtrack post in awhile and I was watching this again the other night, so I thought what the hell and here we are. This is a good soundtrack to an OK movie, Lucio Fulci was originally attached to this but became ill and turned over the reigns to the always handy Italian Shlockmiester Bruno Mattei, you might of seen his gut munching opus "Hell of the Living Dead", now we all know he's never gonna be as good as Fulci and this could never touch ZOMBIE! However I guess there had to be a sequel and this is an entertaining movie to say the least. Fulci did direct at least 30 minutes of this movie and even though it's often credited to him, he flatly disowned it. There are two other sequels in title only, neither is really worth the time. Anyway this soundtrack is top notch GOBLIN copy type shit in the best parts, very cool and alot of it is very heavy and doomy, downer kind of stuff. Kind of reminds me of some of the music in Return of the Living Dead. The ones with the vocals are awful though, total shit, so watch out. It sounds like Lionel Ritchie jamming with RUSH, fuck it's bad and every single track with vocals on here is the same fucking way, just different degree's of pure shit. Other wise though its a great soundtrack, very 80's, very Italian. Got to love those crazy Italians!

BIKER EXPLOITATION SOUNDTRACKS

Let me just say that I love biker movies. I grew up watching them and I still cant get enough. My dad was a real life biker back in the day and we had alot of crazy biker parties at our house on the farm, too many to count and most of them were kind of like these movies, except no body got killed. Also later in life these movies helped me and my dad reconnected on a deeper friendship level, We watched them all over again and talked about all of them. Even now when I see a new one on DVD I have to get, just to give it to dear ol'Dad, ha ha. So I might be a little bias. Anyway, I thought I would throw up a few different soundtracks that I really liked, also I included one compilation here that may seem redundant if you grab all of these. Of course if you like biker rock or biker movies you should certainly check out my Simon Stokes post, Simon is the real deal 100%. I really meant to get off my ass and rip my Outlaw Riders soundtrack L.P. that Simon appears on, but that just didn't happen, maybe next time. POLTERGEIST SOUNDTRACKS 1-3

I had been neglecting the soundtrack side of things here, so I thought I would put up few great soundtracks to two great movies and one that was shitty. I really like the first two POLTERGEIST flicks but the third one...Well no one really remembers it anyway. Here have All three soundtracks. The first two are by soundtrack master Jerry Goldsmith and the last one is by Joe Renzetti. Jerry Goldsmith(1929-2004) has of course cranked out quite a few soundtracks in his time including Twilightzone, Planet of the apes, Alien, Legend and The Omen 1, 2 &3. So needless to say this dude is a pro and delivers two very atmospheric scores, I love them both. Next is Joe Renzetti's Score for the third and worst POLTERGEIST film, part 3. If you haven't seen this one , don't bother. its just a rehash and lacks everything that made the first one so special. Joe Renzetti was also very experienced at the music came and had been Cameo Records house guitarist, he played on the hits "Let's Twist Again", " Dee Dee Sharp's "Mashed Potato Time"", "South Street", The "Limbo Rock", "Palisades Park, and "Tallahassee Lassie". Thats some killer stuff for sure,but he also arranged Barry Manilow's "Mandy",not so killer. One last cool fact about Joe renzetti is that he taught the actors in "The Buddy Holly Story" how to play their instruments and perform the songs in the movie, this was a real first and I cant think of another movie off the top of my head that has done this. Anyway his soundtrack here is awesome and worth your time for a listen.

RIZ ORTOLANI- CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST OST 1980

My good friend Mike at blogthejerk.blogspot.com/ posted the killer Last house on the left soundtrack yesterday, so today I thought I would post this Italian masterstroke. So here's Riz Ortolani's soundtrack to cannibal holocaust. This soundtrack has got to be one of the more depressing recordings I have heard(just like the movie). There's just something here that brings you down, it's hard to explain really. I think I would feel the same way even if I hadn't seen this movie. Despite what you may think about it and I know there are a lot of different opinions, CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST stands the test of time. Its still shocking to this day and has lived up to it's legend unlike several other Italian gut munchers. Riz Ortaolani scored several exploit classics such as MONDO CANE, CASTLE OF BLOOD GOODBYE UNCLE TOM and SO SWEET...SO PERVERSE, all of which are great soundtracks. Forget any feeling you have toward this flick and enjoy this great soundtrack.
